Scott Turnbull is the sommelier and beverage manager for Solage Calistoga where he has the ever-important job of overseeing the wine and spirits program for the indoor-outdoor Solbar that features a menu that can only be described as “South meets Napa” comfort food.
Turnbull, who is currently a certified sommelier through the Guild of Master Sommeliers, got his start at Le Bec-Fin in Philadelphia, before moving on to Striped Bass, XIX Restaurant at the Park Hyatt before he graduated to the sommelier, and restaurant manager of the Fountain Restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia.
Today he spends every day working side by side with executive chef Brandon Sharp at Solbar, the property’s seven-time Michelin-starred restaurant. In addition to curating the wine list at Solage, Turnbull oversees the cocktail program, creating artisan drinks crafted with fresh herbs, homemade syrups and distinctly flavored tinctures to compliment Sharp’s menu.
